In description of azure mage, it saying "azure mages are granted the ability to enter the deeps and can extend this power to others". I read this as azure mage can bring troops with him under water, just like sea father. However, he cannot do that. Maybe an oversight?

I think in Dom2 water mages could lead people into the water or something. Now they (in general) can't.

I think it's description from older versions of Dom where any water mage could bring troops underwater

Yes, any mage could bring the amount of troops equal to his skill in water magic

I'm not sure if these are on the bug list as description errors? Or if they should be?
It would be nice if the descriptions were updated, since there are still a few mages who can and it would be good to be able to use the descriptions as a clue. An icon would be best :)

Sea King on the other hand refuses to take more than 15 troops with him under water [and he has 40 leadership]. I can confirm Azure Mages not being able to get troops underwater.

I would so like to have this ability put back in the game. I'm not sure why it was nerfed in the first place.

Unfortunately this was removed without providing any other options for computer opponents. Within DOM_2 the computer land opponents with water magic would eventually move into water provinces. Now almost all computer land opponents remain stuck on land.

If you go making all water mages into amphibians, you do realise niefel will utterly *****slap the water nations in EA right?

Well said. After all, several nations use water magic mostly as "ice" magic, so it would be both unthematic and unbalancing to give them natural water breathing. They get an easy access to water anyway, through items and the easiest chance (except water nations, which wouldn't use it anyway) to Thetis' Blessing.

I would like to see the water-breathing ability given to more water mages. Ideally it should go to those who are thematically water mages, not cold mages. Especially to the various independent water mages.
That would return some of the flexibility needed to fight water nations, especially for the AI.

Failing that I'd really like the descriptions changed so it doesn't claim to grant the ability when the mage doesn't have.

I am correct in thinking that some water mages still can, right?

There are enough items that land based mages can forge that I do not think nerfing mages with water is required.

However the converse, granting the few water mages with earth an air-breathing ability would be a nice boost to the water nations, specially when they are AI.
