It seems I have underestimated you Jim my friend, this will not happen again.
That battle was either really pretty, or really ugly, depending on which side of the fence you happen to be on. ;)
I replayed it a few times to laugh at how fast a dozen Sauromancers can Wither Bones 300 longdeads. Lucky I didn't need them for much more than distraction. :p
Pity that leezards are cold blooded, eh? <3

The poor bastards were outnumbered 2.5 to 1, but they did surprisingly in the given circumstances.
I just don't know why I casted darkness, I wanted to cast life after death. That really screwed me.
Well don't expect a rerun of this battle soon, I have something nice planned for you in a few turns. Muhahaha

Well that was a stupid mistake. My reclesness seems to be endless, Serpents blessing is nature 4.
I don't care about losing those troops, but loosing those 6 mages is a whole different story. That battle could have gone much better... sigh

JimMorrison
February 13th, 2009, 04:39 PM
Aye, I didn't expect such a large force, I saw nothing adjacent, so I was making a mad dash to meet up with the main forces to protect our homeland.
It entertained me how much damage they did, though I wanted them part of more final clashes. :( My last battle with Vanheim went much worse for my loyal forces..... Mass Flight can be absolutely brutal.

Slobby, we need to AI MA Ulm and LA Ermor as they have staled last 4 turns--soon to be 5. NO reason for the peeps taking them on to have it easy. AI da fools. Would have been nice if the people playing them had the courtesy to set them to AI instead of fleeing like spring chickens instead of duking it out to the bitter end.

Darkness/Rigor Mortis/Wind of Death/Wailing Wind/Undead horde/Spells
Instead he decided to cast,
Darkness/Rigor Mortis/Cloud of Death/Rain of Stones
and killed himself! lol Ah too funny!
This is pretty much the end of MA C'tis, I'll be setting myself to ai this turn I think.

Executor
April 11th, 2009, 08:35 PM
Don't worry Jim, that won't happen.
Dimaz, we have exactly the same standards, so that's a bit confusing.
I know we have no official diplomatic agreement but I will be attacking you this turn. You overcast my global!!!
I've had a little talk with some people and we can use an exiting mod, single age, and enter new standards for either me or you in this game so we can tell who's is who.
Since the game is hosted on Llamaserver, Only Llama can do this (I think), so I PM'd him, but still no word.
Wanted to attack you last turn, and since I can't risk delaying this war any more I think we better make a pause till Llama changes our banners.
JimMorrison
April 11th, 2009, 08:42 PM
Actually I'm pretty sure that the final verdict was that for the banners, it does not matter what the data on Llamaserver says. What is important, is the content of your mod, which you can (and have to) change locally.
As far as I know, there is no enforced logical order in a mod file. Just open up the SingleAgeMod (or SingleAgeComplete or whichever it is :p) and past in the data from Streamers and Standards mod.
When you open your turn, your game will look for the appropriate mod file, and use it verbatim - it has no knowledge of what the mod file at the host actually says. Just remember to only paste in info about the banners, or you will get corrupted turns that will make the game go wonky. ;)
Dimaz
April 12th, 2009, 03:08 AM
Executor, I agree that our banners produce some confusion. MA C'tis too, btw. It's good that you are going to attack now, because I decided the same, and actually I was going to attack last turn but due to some errors at forging I had to wait. Now, if someone can tell exactly what should we do to set different banners for 3 C'tis nations, I'll be really grateful.

April 22nd, 2009, 12:55 AM
You can run multiple instances of Dominions on your computer. For this test, you'll need multiple installs as well.
Start one, start a Network game, using the mods from this game.
Open a separate instance of Dom3, and log into your own server, from your second install.
Run a few turns of the game, then close the second instance, swap in your altered .dm file, and log back in. Check to see the banners are changed, and End Turn to confirm that it will resolve.
If the turn runs, the fix works, and should be 100% safe to use with Llamaserver.
Then you can post your results, and everyone will adore you for finally proving that it is viable. ;)

April 22nd, 2009, 06:15 AM
Dimaz I think this is everything you need to do, copy this into the single age mod file.
#modname "Flag Test"
#icon "../guihead.tga"
#selectnation 60
#flag "./llamaBanners/la_ctis_icon.tga"
#end
Restart Dominions and I think it should work.
If not, well PM Gandalf.
Dimaz
April 22nd, 2009, 02:43 PM
Well, I also need some tga image renamed to ./llamaBanners/la_ctis_icon.tga for this to work. Anyone wanna take a guess how much pearls AN is giving me?
BTW, What globals were dispelled this turn?
Dimaz
April 29th, 2009, 02:19 PM
I think about 150, maybe 200, perhaps around 80-90 from me, if I understand the mechanics properly. It largerly depends on how you spend (or not) these pearls, actually, so hard to guess.
I used Fate of Oedipus to dispell EoG and the lightning global by Jotunheim was also destroyed somehow.
Executor
April 29th, 2009, 02:49 PM
Well I'll tell you when the game is over, which may be a very long time...
It was a good trade off, 30 pearls for Eyes of God, 75 fire gems to cancel it out, and since I have the chalice, as you may have suspected, no harm done. Plus needed it up for only one turn anyway, makes no difference now.
Oh, have something special coming up next month, stay tuned.
Dimaz
April 29th, 2009, 03:29 PM
I hope it'll be more special than hundreds of GR casts.. I already had enough of "specials" in this game when my god was killed by unique doom horror early in the game. Actually, I don't think you can win now, but I think it'll be a long fight for both of us. It's a pity we don't have VPs in this game, probably it's a bad idea to play such large maps with no VPs.
Executor
April 29th, 2009, 04:01 PM
No, something better, GR is just something you're gonna have to get used to every turn.
I agree, this map is just too big, I don't think I'll play a game this big soon, or at all again.
So you don't think I can win? Well I'll just have to prove you wrong there I guess. But in any case, if I see I'm going down I won't insist on prolonging this time consing game, I expect the same from you.

Ah, a good turn! You're finally losing some troops and mages, now you just outnumber me 2 to 1.
It will be a very big shame for the one of us who loses this game if you consider all the time invested in it. This last turn took me about 6-7 hours to menage.
Dimaz
June 14th, 2009, 06:06 AM
Well, considering I just lost 999 astral trying to overcast your nexus with the mage killed by A, and losing about half of my gem-producing items, and losing many chariot-spamming priests, and the fact that we understood you're going to use GoH/A combo just the last turn, clearly you play better. I think my main mistake was to concentrate on "more lands as fast as possible" in the midgame, spending tons of astral on golems and losing them without need. Instead I had to put Nexus first. Well, considering all this, I think we can declare you winner in this game.
Executor
June 14th, 2009, 06:20 AM
I do think you severely underestimated me, you are stronger only on score graphs.
My clams cost 3w1N gem, and blood stone 3 slaves and 2 earth gems. I'm forging 30 clams a turn along with several blood stones.
I have about 350 clams and six astral 9 mages to cast wish, so that's another 450 free gems along with those 350.
I can cast AN with 999 every turn since I have about 700 astral gems a turn with AN. While Jotun was alive it gave me about 350 a turn. Now it about 200 since I keep summoning iron dragon, tartarians and other expensive stuff.
I also pay almost nothing for items with the forge, and the steel ovens, 10 gem items cost me 2 gems, 5 gems items are 1 even without hammers.
I'm summoning 10 tartarians a turn.
I have a dozen Seraphs and Chayots, and about 100 tartarians waiting to be GoRed.
And with those last two Armageddons I lost maybe 10 mages, which weren't in friendly dominion to be saved by GoH, Sauromancer have protection 10 and other important mages had armor to protect them.
Even if you do dispel GoH this turn, although I put an insanely large amount of gems, it would still be one turn of Armageddons for you from which you can not protect.
I'm good if you want to continue the game, although I pretty sure you'll lose eventually and even better if you want to end it. Those golems irritate the hell out of me!!!
Dimaz
June 14th, 2009, 06:40 AM
Lost my reply.
In short, I had 450 total astral income (all gems converted) and was going to overcast nexus and then forge with 20% constr site. Perhaps it was too late already, don't know. Anyway it was interesting game. My first lategame experience on such scale. Many mistakes, many new ideas.
Executor
June 14th, 2009, 06:53 AM
OK, than.
I'll declare the game over.
I had about 2000 gems stockpilled which I had no idea how to spend other than to keep them for alchemising for wish.
It was a very interesting game. I made several very stupid mistakes, worst was the fact that I kept low for too long in fear of being ganged upon even when there was little who left to attack me, and didn't notice how big you grew, which could have cost me my game.
I had a very fast start, with taking a load of provinces and than switching to research. I think I finished research at about turn 50, got to const 8 first and made most of the artifacts.
That and the fact that Jotunheim and I agreed not to fight each other with being the two biggest nation let me focus on a single front to defend if needed which made my game.
All in all you're a very nasty opponent, and I hope not to fight you again for a while at least. Good game.
Learned a few new tricks myself, but still to learn how to kill those golems of yours, never could find a reasonably cheap solution.
Oh, and I like the fact that C'tis from all ages were the best in the game even with Mictlan, Ermor, Pythium, Nief and other top nations. GO CTIS!
