The manual says a simple ALT-PRINTSCREEN will work, but I don't get a very good resolution image. Might be the screen settings I'm using.

The basic rule of thumb I use is the game has to be set up in windowed mode and have "F Lock" off and then ALT-PRINTSCREEN will work
Other people will have other ways of doing this

Running in windowed mode did make a difference in screen print resolution. Once ALT-PRINTSCREEN is pressed, it easily pastes into a paint program.

Game Guide, "Tuning Your Machine", Windowed Mode section, paragraph 5:
There is no need of any external screen capture mode when using Windowed Mode. The normal Windows ALT-PRINTSCREEN will copy the window to the Windows paste buffer. Simply open up a normal paint programme (such as the supplied Microsoft utility) and select paste.
If you try to capture the game when in full-screen mode then you are on your own. You will have to find some sort of third-party screen capture utility programme that can unscramble a DirectX 256 colour palette mode screen.

There may be - but why bother when Windowed Mode does away with any hassles?.
