Do these in-battle aging effects stay if you survive the battle?

AFAIK yes, you don't get younger after battle.

Yes, unless it kills you. You will frequently see short-lived units (like humans) disappear into a puff of blood as they exit the battlefield, if they are under a Decay effect. This makes e.g. Wind of Death a surprisingly good spell for finishing off a defeated army. (I love seeing "390 of 425 units killed.")

To use with extreme care, too. You'll see sometimes the AI trash his own units with that.

Yep. I see AI hurt itself more than me when it uses it.
Still, I guess I ought to shelve the idea of giving Bane Blades to Androphags :)
