I was wondering, why are random maps for israel vs syria desert maps? i have been to the golan thousends of time and have yet to see any thing close to a desert. even choosing specifically the golan as your location brings this brown-earth map, which again has little to do with the area. the golan is usually green, has fields and streams, not a barren brown/yellow desert....

Desert maps were the defaults for any Arab/Israel area in SP2. I thought I had fixed it for the Syrians to use the arid maps (dirt, with fields) as well, but obviously not. We will look into that for the patch.

Under the circumstances the "arid" terrain would be better but from what I can see from photos "Golan" is far from being an oasis of green

those pictures were taken in the hight of summer, when all the grass dries up and dies. still its not sand, certinly not like in the Sinai or Negev. its just short and medium grass thats dry. thats why every time we fired our mainguns there the place caught on fire:) In the winter its mostly green, and sometimes even snowy. in the spring its still green. actually if i had to describe it, muddy would be my best word:).

Actually, Don, I would love it : I love realistic terrain, hehe ;)
Anytime you give us tools to model the effect of a weather in a more real fashion for any part of the world, it's a time to celebrate !!
So I say bring on the muddy Golan !!

Do you understand how the map editor feature works after you press " view map" when purchasing ??

Set the battle to Israel and Syria. Use an 80x80 size map

Press "view map". A new screen will load

Press the top right hand button and enter 72 for map number and that will report as being "Golan"

Click on the middle button near the middle of the screen ( depends where in what resolution you are using ) It will report as the "random map generator"

Change Savannah from 0 to 1

Change Season to summer ( 1 ) and NOT jungle ( 0 )

Click on the blue > button ( every click gives a variation )

Is that muddy enough for spring ??

When is there snow and how much does it cover?

I wouldent say that making it snowy is advised, because that happens maybe twice a winter, and the snow last a week max.

muddy in spring we could do too ( nobody would like it but we could do it

trust me i dident like it either what with sinking my tank in it and all.

Is that muddy enough for spring ??

actually thats not bad... maybe a little less muddy if possible, but that map looked much more like the golan than the arid one. thanks!

More like the Golan in Spring you mean........

anytime a map pops up you don't like it's easy to change once you know how
