I giant monster from the paleolithic area appears in front of you! hey looks down at you with his big red eyes. you yell up at him "what do ya want from us monsta?" The monster bends down and he says "I need 'bout tree-fiddy." "tree-fiddy?" you aks. "tree-fiddy" he replies calmly.

and because you're a sucker, you gave him tree-fiddy. now you don't have any points left to design your pretender with.

all pretenders must have at least tree-fiddy points left after design. you can use all means to get extra points, but you must have the original tree-fiddy still left.

loch-ness monster (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8iHPC-dGKY)

let's get started before the loch ness monster comes back to ask for more.

Game: Lochness
Map: -under consideration-
Era: Late Age
Players: 8-12
Indies: 5
Special Sites: 75
Money/Resource/Supply: 125
Score Graphs: On
Research: Difficult
Victory: Standard
Mods: CBM

Money/Resource/Supply is also under consideration. Most likely it will be higher than normal, right now I've got it set at 125. I'm open to input/advice/reasoning.

Also under consideration is if Ermor/R'yleh should be banned. It seems to me that their mass freespawn would actually be even more advantageous with such limited scales and pretender; so right now I'm thinking they are out.

Hosting: Llamaserver. 24 hours for first 20; 48 hours until people want 72. All delay requests will be honored, but you must PM or post the admin. Two stales in a row and AI.

I'll be C'tis

They're being displayed during pretender creation all the time. Or at least on all the screens where you can spend points.

I mean how do you check that OTHER players kept their tree-fiddy?

We can either use the honor system, or have some review system. Something could be setup up so that each player's pretender file is reveiwed by another random player from within the game.

Start a game. note scale choices (by using starting scales in home province). if the pretender is asleep advance until it wakes up. note awakening choice. note magic choice. note pretender type. go to game tools, remake that pretender and make sure it has at least 350 left.

Darn, I thought for some reason catgod displayed unused points. But it does display all the attributes. If you can find a volunteer not in the game to check the .2h files, maybe llamabeast could mail the turn 0 set of .2h files to him and he could check?

catgod is probably a lot easier and more accurate than looking at the home provinces.

Ah, you've fallen into a common trap there vfb.

Fiddy comes from an ancient Sanskrit word originally meaning 'scent' or 'perfume'. Tree-fiddy is of course a fiddy that comes from trees - in the ancient middle east this would normally have referred to frankincense (a valuable and strongly scented tree resin), and thus we can see that Omnirizon is making a reference to the forthcoming Christmastide.

In juxtaposing the approaching festive season with the image of the Loch Ness monster, the introductory text is actually a subtle yet hilarious satire on the increasing commercialisation of Christmas.

I have no idea what the game rules are, though.

Man has launched an unprovoked and brutal assault on Rus territory! Their evil tax collecting armies have attacked the peaceful people of the Democratic Republic of Bogarus. The ghost of Nevski calls out for the peasants and workers to rise up to defend the motherland!

Vanslime
January 23rd, 2009, 12:33 AM
Unprovoked? Your inefficient and haphazard expansionism has caused the death of Sir Bartholomew Paisley, esquire, Lord Administrator of the Tower of Chelms. Do you know how much paperwork we had to go through?

Nor did we receive any apologies or reparations. Now be a good little nation and keep quiet while you get Manhandled.:D

Deep breaths, deep breaths.

I will drown you in a sea of money.

vfb
February 8th, 2009, 10:37 AM
Ulm is beating a retreat before the vast army Man has hired with his billions and billions of gold reserves. As we retreat we notice that the we see no messengers bearing orders from the Bogarus capitol. We think perhaps they have become leaderless:

http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=42133

Although it would be nicer for us if Ulm were able to flee through the lands of Bogarus unmolested, it would probably be fairer if at least the AI was there to molest us as we pass through.

Hello

I have to go back home and drop the games I'm in (I can't take my computer). I'm sorry to warn so late (and after having already stalled one or two turns) but something unexpected came up and I forgot a bit about the games I'm in.

If you decided to leave, and your nation is in an unenviable position, please at least have the common courtesy to set yourself to AI, it isn't like someone's going to want to sub for your about-to-be-seiged-capital-only-one-province-empire :|

February 26th, 2009, 08:15 PM
You're not in totally terrible shape from what the graphs are showing, and your renimators appear to have been at work even while you were unable to do your turns. I think Marignon may have been chivalrously refraining from invading you while you staled.

So you might be able to get a sub or something.

Apsophos

I'd like to PM Llamabeast to see if he can re-run turn 48 with everyone's turn, instead of everyone staling. If Marignon didn't already submit a turn 48 .2h, because of the llamaserver madness, then they should have a chance to send in turn 48 orders.

The problem with just staling is that:

- My blood hunting is likely messed up, because I was unable to adjust for unrest, or take slaves off of full hunters.
- I lost fever fetishes that I gave orders to be moved onto different units.

It's not a rollback that will require anyone to redo their orders. I'm pretty sure llamabeast has a backup of the .2h files, so we don't even need to submit orders.

Does anyone have any objections?

Edit: Since the game is scheduled to host in 48 hours, not 5 days like most of the llamaserver games that crashed, I've PM'ed Omni and asked him to extend the timer by 48 hours.

Well, Pangaea was the only nation that went AI without a good reason. But I don't mind if you don't want to continue without Apsophos. I still haven't heard back for him, and it's been a week.

Should I post for subs for Pythium and Marignon?

I've killed two kitted-out angels (Fury, Harbinger) of his with cheap Mind Hunts, and his Air Queens are just sitting in his castles.

I'm going to declare victory by default for Ulm on turn 50, unless Pythium objects.
