I'm having a problem loading a map. When I pick a custom map from the list, I get a different map* in the game than the one previewed before the game.
What's causing it to happen?
*map I get is from the last game I played.
:confused::(

It's a caching bug and somebody else had the same problem and wrote about it here a week or two ago. It has been fixed according to the changelog and will be gone in the next patch. You need to restart the game between creating new games or give your games / maps different names until then.

I have another map problem: When I start a game on any other map than a random map I get "bad neighbour" and a crash. What could be the cause?

I had the same exact problem.
I had installed Dom3 on a second computer, installed a couple mods and played some of my MP turns. Then, when trying to create and play a new SP game I got the Bad Neighbor crash. Never tried a random map.
I just reinstalled Dom3 and it appears to have fixed itself.

Hmmm mods? I never considered that it could be ties to mods. Maybe some of our more expert modders can comment if a mod can do anything to force a game to try something neighborly and unusual.
@RadioHeart:
You should never have to turn on mods to play a turn in an MP game. You only have to turn on a mod to start a game with it, or to create a god to upload to one. Everytime Dom3 rectives a turn for a game it will automatically turn on any mod for that game as long as you have it in your mod directory, and turn it off again when it leaves that game.

For the record, I was clicking the mods on and off before I opened a turn for awhile. I was in one game with CBM and one without. Eventually caught on to the automation.
Any rate, I can't remember the exact sequence of events as this occurred about a month ago, but it could have something to do with having mods enabled before ever starting a new game or having the first game ever created have a mod enabled.
Reinstalling did fix it right up, imagine I just quick tested Create a New Game before fiddling with mods after I reinstalled.
