The AI for the allies needs some serious work.

After the sea lanes to australia are cut by Japan, it seems like the allies doesnt even care. I held Espiritu for the 6 turns needed to win as Japan, and was attacked there 1 time, by a very small force.

At times the Allies will raid somewhere, have overwheling forces, and will attack one round, damage a few ships, not damage the base at all, and will then withdraw.Makes absolutely no sense whatsever.

It really seems as if the AI for the allies doesnt have a clue what the winning conditions are.

Yes, I just had a game where Allied AI had a troop transport[invasion force] available to try to re-take Espiritu in order to not lose, and it did not even try to take the base. So I won (as IJN).

As much as I enjoyed the game, this is certainly a major flaw in the Allied AI. I was easily able to hold Espiritu Santo for 6 rounds with only 3 CVLs and a dozen cruisers. The US attacked me elsewhere with its main CV taskforce, but it only sent a moderate raid down (1 CV and minor support) to Espiritu. I had all of my fastest CVs on patrol in Tarawa in order to o reinforce Espiritu just in case a decisive battle was going to happen there. I figured I'd lose such an engagement in mid-1943, and was just hoping it would buy enough time to win, but the AI never even tried.
