Be sure to add Boots of Quickness to it. Double the firings.

Another cheap indy commander with a Bow of War seems to be a more economical choice than that.

eagle eyes, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire and flee? (with a common indy druid with boots of quickness?)

This will be pretty expensive:
devata+2bow of war+boots of quickness[fire,fire,fire,fire,fire,fire and flee].
Dont remneber if they came with magic paths so maybe you can add some nice spell in orders.

Bow of War has 7 ammo. Well, 7x however many it shoots, but it can only fire 7 times in a single battle. That's why this thread is named "7 out of 7 uses of Bow of War", and that's why the original post lists 5xFire + Fire&Flee. Fire&Flee as in Fire, Fire, Retreat. Or Fire x7 and Retreat.

Don't neglect a shroud of the battle saint or blessing if you've got a death blessing. :)

Is fire and flee worth the difference between just a retreat?
Especially with anything decked out so expensively.
I think I would definetly prefer a fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, retreat.
Fire and flee has some advantages but I tend to use it only in areas where every nearby province is capable of producing mounted archers.
Oh and wouldnt the blessed shroud thing be especially nice to add when you have the blessing for causing afflictions? With the Bow of War?

That's what Baalz just said.
Fire and flee is simply to get 7/7 instead of 5/7.

D'oh. I forgot that ranged weapon use ammo.
Fire bless work on ranged? if yes a f9/d9 should be pretty evil

Extra damage from Fire or Death blesses only works in melee, not for missiles or spells.
F9D9 pretender could cast Flaming Arrows, though. ;)

You get to aim those last two shots at either the closest units, monsters, calvery, archers, flying units, or the rear. That makes them the best two of seven uses.

Assuming you don't spend the first turn running forward to get into range, then spend the second turn getting promptly impaled on a bunch of lances. :)

I surely remember somebody said that Death 9 bless works with missiles/spells (I think it was LA Tien Chi guide discussion). Fire bless certainly works only in melee.

I'm pretty sure that referred only to the +affliction% part of the bless, which I think works everywhere.

I'd worry that with 7 turns my bow of war commanders would be under attack in melee. I assume they'll all be carting personal guards round as well?

Agema: I presume these missile thugs are to be used along with PD, chaff, regular armies etc. Point being getting them to use the bow of war until they can't, then leave so there's less chance they die.
