.........

Those people better hope they know about missiles - because they sure as hell don't have a grasp of anything else relating to that video..... Or maybe I'm just completely out of touch with what Indian generals like. :p

Checking my sig.

Man, I liked the old forum. Where anything you changed would automatically appear on all your messages. This forum is actually a downgrade, on the order of Vista. But I digress.

At least we can still all talk to each other, and I thank Shrapnel for that.

At first, I wasn't particularly impressed by this. Then I found out that the song, "Together Forever" is written by Rick Astley. Yes, that Rick.

Did... did these guys 'rickroll' the military leaders of a nuclear state? Wow, they have some "dingas".

Oh... So could you enlighten me ? I still don't understand why these gun dealers are any worse than the others. Apart from a deranged sense of humor. (but, hopefully, humor never killed anyone...)

Really?

This isn't about arms dealers at all.

It's about the video and it's own 'artistic' merits.

Humakty
March 23rd, 2009, 11:39 AM
Oh, now I get it. And I agree it is 'artistically' a failure. If we ought to use this word for such a piece of rubbish.

*I get things quickly, but you'll have to explain it a lot.*

PS : I do understand why some are afraid by this video. Sad/sick evolution, isn't it ?

I think that it shows a good deal of understanding about their customers. Believe it or not, the Indians will dig this. Their movies are full with dance interludes like that, and corny as they are, the Indians love them and will sing along. Even if they'd happen not to like the performance itself, they'll appreciate the nod that somebody shows that they try to understand them and their culture.

And soon, for occidental market, 'Dance with the missiles', the story of a man who started a new life with the long misunderstood missiles, who are no worse than any human.

Ich-

Perhaps, who knows, but this video was not released for the general population, it was intended for the military/government officials I assume. Whatever the reasons behind it, it is still marvelously cheesy to western tastes :)

Indians in the military/government are still Indians. Probably even more traditional ones than others from the general population. It's very cheesy, but not much more than your average other Bollywood movie. And believe me, they do know all those songs by heart, hundreds of them, and sing along when they rewatch the movies...

I'd prefer to hear an indians perspective on the video, but in any case, I did not share that link for any reason other than to allow people to get a chuckle at it.

Granted everyones opinion of it will differ, but from my pov (and a genreal western pov) anything involving Rick Astley is going to draw groans and laughs. Israelis pretending to be Indians (and failing rather convincingly) is just the icing on the cake.
