Does the spell Weapons of Sharpness affect ranged weapons like bows and javelins? Whether it does or not, what does the spell do to weapons that are already Armor Piercing? For instance, if you'd cast it on a commander with a Sword or Axe of Sharpness, or will it not affect Weapon items like Destruction won't destroy Armor Magic items?

I'm pretty sure it does not affect ranged weapons, though the units will still have the icon of course, for their normal melee attacks, and it will do nothing to weapons which are already armor piercing.

Only affects melee, and does nothing to already-armor-piercing weapons. I think it does affect magical weapons, but I haven't tested.

And how about 'natural' weapons such as claws or bites? My impression was that it does affect them, but I never specifically tested that.

I don't think there's a "natural" tag, so I expect that it works on them normally.

Why cannot there be sharpened teeth and claws?:)
As for the ranged weapons, spell description (or manual) clearly says that it affects only melee.

How about AN weapons (thinking of magic weapons here), does the spell turn them into AP? That'd be a bit... waste.
