View Full Version : AI is still too easy to beat.

I just ran the new version 1.03 and skipped my first 12 turns as the Allies. I still had no trouble crushing the AI. It did try and cut my supply line, BUT it never supplied the island it took, nor did it defend it. Thus it never actually cut supply, only potentially. My first action, besides putting my fleets to sea in the port they were already in, was on turn 13.

I have yet to try the new patch, as I have turned on my gaming PC for a week now. Work seems to be getting in the way.
But as of the last patch I thought the AI fairly good, a few exploits that people have found, but no show stoppers. We have to remember this one is not a Matrix Games War in the Pacific :):)
Remember a lot of beginners play this one as well, and I am sure the game will get better as more patches get released.

I've played all of two games, one per side. The AI was more disappointing handling the Allies. I took Espiritu Sonto and won in June of '43. The AI never did mount a large scale counter attack despite having five or six functional fleet carriers and 320+ planes.
It did try to raid (unsuccessfully) my Home Islands which I will give kudos if it was an intentional attempt to draw my forces away from the South Pacific. :D

Unfortunately, it seems to me that this is one of the few things that the AI still does too often and too predictably.
