View Full Version : God paths-random event relationship.

I am playing a game as eriu with a fountain of blood E9/S6/B5 (in case you are wondering: I want my tuatha lords sabbathing, I want my sidhe flying thugs getting an E9 bless, and I want blood stones). Anyway, I've noticed that many of the events I get are about new mines being found. To the point of it beggining to offset my sloth scales...
Ok, I had noticed in the past that some random events seemed to be related to your avaiable magic (IE: You dont get the slave ship event unless you have blood mages), but I hadn't really realized it applies to other stuff as well.

(IE: You dont get the slave ship event unless you have blood mages) This can happen even if you don't have blood mages. And I would be very surprised if any events checked the magic paths of your god/commanders (I believe the only checks are scales, nation, terrain, buildings, season, and presence of a unit with a particular monster number).

You can get the slave ship event for sure even when you have no magic. Then you wonder what to do with those 17 slaves you have; should you hunt for more and then empower one mage, or just ignore them? Happily though Bogus (or who ever the hero is that appears) usually relieves you from that problem, because he'll soon after climb the walls and release the slaves :D ;)

I was thinking that Bogus would be a little less subtle than that.

possibly. Nonetheless I maintain that the bless influences the events. I've gotten mine events in the past, but in this game they seem to be surging like mushrooms in my bathroom.

Is this the first time you've taken an E9 bless? To me that sounds like a fluke of the random number generator, unrelated to your magic paths.

It might be a false association, but I often feel like I more commonly get free gems for national magic paths than others, although I might just notice them more because I think they're more useful.

Yeah, I think it's that. I know I've gotten plenty of free water gems before, but as I don't usually play with a nation with any innate water access, I never really notice it until I've got a giant pile accumulated. :o
It's kind of like the luck-misfortune effect. You never really notice many of good gold giving events, but when suddenly you lose a provinces or two, or a lab or temple, it suddenly seems like that luck you picked wasn't worth it.
