I've been pushing this game hard on my friends, and recently convinced one of them to buy it! This is a very exciting time for me, because my Dom3 addiction is tremendous. However, a recent conversation I had with another friend made me laugh, so I thought I'd share it. First he said, "The game looks alright, but there aren't any zombies." I immediately linked him to the strategywiki pages on Ermor. "Fine," he replied, "but the game doesn't have any aliens." I quickly linked him to the pages on R'lyeh. "The come from a star that fell from the sky!" I told him. "Fine," he replied, "...but...it doesn't have a football to the groin!"

I was dumbstruck. I had no example of a football to the groin! I tried to find a magic spell that affected the enemy males' naughty parts, but I finally had to concede - there is no football to the groin!

Is there a spell that I missed so that I can put my friend in his place? Or does a new spell need to be added to the wishlist? "Curse of Stones" has already been taken, so how about "Curse the Stones" instead?

Hmm, succubus with a fire bola (I think that's the closest we're gonna get to a football) failing a seduction attempt and winning the ensuing assassination battle?

It's a bit of a stretch, but so is the request.

At first I agreed! It certainly is a stretch in most cases to consider such a spell. But then I got to thinking. First of all, as you said: this is the game where you can summon a succubus to seduce enemy commanders! Not only that, I just had my monkey mage summon flying monkeys a la Wizard of Oz! If there is a game where anything is possible, then I am convinced this is it.

As such, I hope my initial post does not come off as ridiculous in tone. I really think this is an awesome game!

A football to the groin was always a central part of the Dom design, its inclusion this time around must have been overlooked.

This little mod will set things straight and trump your friend who obviously needs it for being a smarty pants.

That's hilarious. It didn't even occur to me to do something so simple - after a year w/ Dom3 I haven't touched modding still! Thanks for that!

But in any case, I think Gifts from Heaven already fit the bill. I mean lookit them things! Football to the groin hurled by a celestial Joe Namath...

My pal was sufficiently humbled by this when i sent him screenshots. Thanks for the awesome mod! Though I still don't think he'll buy it. Regardless, you've helped me demonstrate the awesome capacities of this game. Phenomenal. :happy:

I'll have to try and get those up again later.

Just wanted to let everyone know - I have 3, maybe 4 friends ordering this game now. In part, due to the Football to the Groin mod. They were impressed with the mod friendliness of the game. That, combined w/ my constant praise of this game for over a year now, has led to a spike in interest among my friends.

A football to the groin is worth it on it's own, as long as it's not your groin.

I can't get the image to link in :( The image was nothing special though - I just took a screenshot of the research window w/ Football To The Groin displayed - I'll just leave it up to the individual player to add the mod in next time they play through.

Sorry for the forum incompetence, for those who were really hoping to see an image posted.
