hello
I was looking several times what the hell killed my SC (ok, it wasnt a SC but he was pretty effective:)

here in the attachment, there is my save file. I play on "Northwest Middle Earth BB (http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?p=633576#post633576)" map, with CB1.5 mod.

If you run the game, please check the battle at Tower Hills. There will be my lonly, but brave like hell Golem againts 258 units. Nothing special, enemy run away but in the last turn... my Golem perishes...
Anyone could tell me what happened? Did he got bored?:)
He had fatigue=0, turn summary says he was killed, but there was nobody on the battlefield. He was supposed to retreat, but he didnt even move - just perished...

When a unit retreats, it is supposed to retreat to the friendly province, right?

Golems are mindless. Mindless units don't retreat, but just vanish.

Yes I've lost many SCs because the attacker could not retreat the battlefield after 75 turns. Unfortunately the game has a secret union which forces units to retreat after a specific amount of turns... those who don't retreat are killed by the all powerful union. The union officials are even more powerful than any pretender which has ascended.

Ideally the game should auto-retreat any attacking units which cannot flee the battlefield instead of auto-killing them... it's more logical and more fair.
