Alas, we have lost a few compatriots already to the Quickening. Indeed, it is a strange, lonely place, if you can even call it that. The Thrench will be unfamiliar to many of those who take comfort in the familiar, who live life by rote. Dominions uses a multiple of 5 for some odd reason when tallying VP, so keep that in mind when viewing totals in game.

Whooooooa I'm not the only one! I started a game like this not long ago. It differs from yours in that I belched a huge essay into the game thread's first post about how dudes should not quit, whereas your first post just says hey dudes no quitting (just about anyway). Also no graphs and CBM!!! It will be hard for me not to play in this game.

CAVEATS:
I stopped being a noob a few games ago, and I thirst for the blood of noobs and non-noobs alike.
I am very busy. What are your thoughts on hosting intervals?

Raider, you should state which nations are banned, as it is not completely clear which nations count as "human". Frankly, only 10 are truly human :)

How do you want to define n00b? I mean, this would be my 6th MP game ever, 4 of which are still ongoing, and I've never even made it to an endgame yet.

Yes, i'm good at strategy games in general, and yes, I can read the wonderful guides on the forum and the explanations of the game rules and make good choices. That doesn't make me experienced, per se. That said, i'm happy competing against just about anyone - getting whupped is a great learning experience.

(I'm apparently also good at diplomacy, which is helping immensely in two games so far).

Actually, the most entertaining thing about this so far is the choice of settings for a n00b game. Independent strength 9 is not something I'd think was a good idea for inexperienced players (i'll confess, i'm probably not a n00b at openings anymore). And random events being rare is just a weird choice.

Without conflict, there is no drama, and thus (for most people, I would think) no fun. Conflict doesn't have to be expressed in a highly competitive fashion. But if the lolrushing and megamakan aren't painfully tedious or painfully uninteresting things for somebody to do, as you suggest they are for you, and if those are the ways to succeed, then people will do those things to produce the fun drama they want.

Those things would be painful for me if they seemed to be cheap. I haven't really seen anything that seems overpowered, though, during my time with this game (at least, not if CBM is applied). Even a "mega monster" has weaknesses!

Hi everyone, apologies for not replying to questions right away, I'm a busy man this time of year unfortunately.

Clarification - By "Human" players, I just mean people controlling the nation, no AI nations. (New at setting up games, my bad!)

Looks like we've had a few players decide to leave for whatever reason - no worries, this game will still go on!

I'll update the original post with the new nation lists, including the dropouts and what have you.
