What's your best assassination kill? (Thus an assassination battle 1vs1)

Mine would be against a fully equipped Air Queen where my assassin had a bottle of water, boots of quickness and an ethereal crossbow. That fella will forever be a hero from my gaming history.

I was lucky the human player had no bodyguards.

What was your base platform? A standard assassin, or something more exotic?

My all-time favorite was a Disease Demon of mine, who killed a PoD scripted to cast Darkness.

I once took out 4 kitted Melquart SCs with 5 manifests as Lanka - Fear Aura is a killer when someone is deep in your dominion, especially when you have Dark Skies like I had.

My BEST assassinations tend not to be true assassinations.
I like to use assassins that cast spells, or give Black Hearts to stealthy mages. I use the assassination attempt to insure that its a one-on-one combat, then have them Charm or Hellbind Heart the target. I particularly love taking over someones prophet loaded down with equipment.

Wow Gandalf that is evil. It just never came into my mind to do something so nasty. I have got to try it.

Thanks

Yes, and if the spell fails then you can always just finish the assassination.

Whats fun is that if you take over a commander then there immediately follows another combat in the same province. Your new commander, against his previous army. If he was the only leader you get to see them flee from their previous commander. You also skip the headache of wondering when you can attack a province. Each capture shows you what is left, and the last commander makes it yours in the same turn as the assassination. Much quicker.

It's cute and I certainly see the amusement value. But it does seem to reduce the usefulness of charming someone. Except in the rare cases when he can take the rest of the army, you don't actually get the commander.

And, for any newbies thinking about trying this, 1PD stops the commander from actually taking the province. This part of the tactic really only works against indies. And most of us have cleared indies by the time we have Black Hearts, Charm or Hellbind Heart.

But that's not an assassin.

My best assasination kill was a Tlahuelpuchi with Leech against a Niefel Jarl.

Quite lame, I know.
My best assassin was an ant (these small things that crawl on hills) but since the enemy's Tartarians went the other way it could only eat them in virtual training sessions. :(
