Or you could mod a misc item. A hand-held ball that gets thrown in combat to release a creature. :)
Better yet do a complete mod that replaces many magic sites with sites that have a creature, and have the ball with a spell that captures one.
And some of them go thru form changes

Well, i''m going to use zubat, i mean, i needed a small vampire bat and he's small and a bat.
Plus, it gains a lot of "good ol' times" and "when i was younger everything was better" points imho.

Don't listen to the haters, this is a really good idea! The pretender god could be Arceus, and the heroes could consist of the various legendary pokemon. Pokemon are tired of being stuffed in balls and forced to fight in glorified cockfights by humans, and band together to take over the world. common pokemon as recruits/freespawn, evolved pokemon as recruitable commanders, and lots of national summons.

Still think this is a great idea, thinking about some logistics. With there being around 500 pokemon now, they might have to be split up across a couple nations, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Priests. What pokemon are good priest candidates? Maybe chansey and blissey, maybe meditite as an H1 warrior priest, medicham as H2...
What pokemon should be the regular military commanders? Machoke? Kangaskhan?
Psychic types like Alakazam are your astral mages. hmmm...
Psychic=Astral, Flying/electric=Air, Grass/poison=nature, Ghost/dark=death, Ground/rock/steel= Earth, Water=water, fire=fire. Not sure about blood.
More musings to come, I'm thinking hard about this
Swan

Rattata and pidgey as domsummon, maybe raticate and pidgeotto as domsummon where there is a temple.
Machop, hitmonlee, hitmonchan as pd
kangaskan, machamp commanders, scyther asasin
ash as god
fossile pokemon as summon
the flag is a pokeball
chansey h1, blissey h2
alakazam as s3 mage, maybe a lot of other weak mages in almost all paths(no blood ofc)

We can think even bigger. Imagine a nation that has a Research-0 national Control spell, and a bunch of terrain-specific summons which result in an indy attack on the province? You have to fight and capture your pokemon. It's also an overwrite of R'lyeh, so you can enter Professor Oak's Lab to summon void creatures--I mean Pikachus and Charmanders and so on.
You can also take a page from the Alugra mod and have a cheap national Gift of Reason(called "Evolve"). It'd be hilarious.

Now that I think about it, Ditto would actually be the better succubus.
I mean, think about what you use it for in the games...

Yeah but, look, ditto shapeshifts, right? In the pokemon games, you use ditto to breed with other pokemon, presumably the ditto takes the shape of a desirable mate for the pokemon you are trying to breed. Hence all the "ditto is a ****" jokes you hear around the net.
So there's nothing to suggest a ditto couldn't take the shape of a sexy female human and seduce enemy commanders. See?
p.s. I actually am of Italian descent, but I'm American and unfortunately don't speak the language. I got the name from Dante's Inferno, Scarmiglione was one of the demons. Scarmiglione was also a lich boss in final fantasy 4, hence the avatar.

Now we are going a bit technical with pokemon it seems...
imho good ol' ditto just copy what he see, as pokemon have no differences between male and female, when humans are different, unless you like your woman bearded.
But this is only speculations, i never asked ditto how his transform works, i mean maybe he have some playpkmn numbers to take inspirations...
This is delirium, isn't it?

Well, pokemon do have gender differences. That's why you can breed them and get pokemon eggs. Some pokemon, like Miltank or Jynx, are always female, and some, like Tauros, are always male. Some others, like porygon, are genderless. but ditto can breed with any pokemon that CAN breed, including genderless ones...
EDIT: I bet that was the most pokemon-centric post ever posted on the Dom 3 forum.

EXCERPT: Gender-based evolution
Some Pokémon evolutions can only be obtained if they are of a certain gender:
* Female Combee evolve into Vespiquen at level 21. Male Combee never evolve.
* At level 20, female Burmy will evolve into Wormadam and male Burmy evolve into Mothim.
* Only male Kirlia can evolve into Gallade.
* Only female Snorunt can evolve into Froslass.

Believe me, I understand, I was always partial to good old Red and Blue myself. There really are almost too many pokemon to keep track of these days, original 151 was the best.
The idea of seductress Ditto is too amusing for me not to argue strongly for it, though :)
EDIT: attached pic of standard untransformed Ditto for the benefit of non-pokemon players.

The real question is whether it'd be better to have a nation of independent pokemon, or if it'd be more fun to have a nation of pokemon trainers going around collecting an army. Wussy recruitable troops (policewoman, etc), but Trainers have a few pokemon go with them into battle--which serves to protect them while they try to Control other pokemon.
I remember in I think a Greenskin mod thread the idea of giving recruitables unreversable forestshapes etc. to differentiate the units into forest or night orcs. I have this wonderful image in my mind of Evolving an Eevee and then having her move to the water to become a Vaporeon...
Is there a way to hijack the Summon Animals 'gets different animals in different terrain' effect for a summon spell?
Alternately, I would be content with replacing the sprites for animals with Pokemon. Cast Animal Horde and get a hundred Rattata. Call of the Winds summons a dozen Pidgeys with their Pidgeotto commander...

I proposed numerous awesome additions to his mod nations to Sombre, and not one of them got implemented. If you manage to get him to make this mod, I'll give you a cookie.

i think is pretty hard to find dirt on someone here, but you can always invent it...
now to be serious...
#secondshape(like the one dragons/werewolf have) to simulate evolutions
sprite-changing animals to pokemon
all of this is possible and easy, just time consuming
override r'lyeh--> domsummon+void site(aka the pc where you left your pokemon)
this i have no idea on how to do it
wow, i should be studing for university tests and my main concern is theorical talk about pokemons...

Problem would be making all the attack sprites, that could take a while. So the sprites are only halfway done.

It shouldn't be a problem, if you split one of the sprites into parts. With a little creativity you can attach them a little different and a little bit painting should do it.
