Suppose:

Shaman1-4 have slave matrixes
Shaman 5 has a Communion Master, and an eye of aiming.

Will the slaves get the benefit of the aim?

Pretty sure the eye provides an item bonus, not an auto-cast buff.

You can tell whether it's an auto-cast buff or an item bonus by looking at your unit outside combat. If you see the effect outside combat, it's not an auto-cast buff.

For example, wear Copper Plate. You see the SR immediately, but there's no Charge Body until you head into a battle.

any 'Onebattle spell' effects that only target the master will target the slaves, so for example having a Lantern shield (http://dom3.servegame.com/wiki/Lantern_Shield) that casts corpse candle as onebattle spell does not make all the slave equally cast the spell or gain the benefit of it (makes sense, right). Effects that only affect the 'caster' (ie. the holder of item) transfer to slaves. Copper plate (http://dom3.servegame.com/wiki/Copper_Plate) is one of these, as vfb said. There are some items that I have no idea if their effects transfer, most being artifacts (like Armor of Virtue (http://dom3.servegame.com/wiki/Armor_of_Virtue) returning, which is set as onebattle spell).

Virtue is AoE 1, not caster. So it doesn't hit the communion slaves, but it does hit anyone who remains in the wearer's square in the first turn of the battle. Also note that the wearer does not get the Returning effect if he moves off his square in the first turn of battle!

What other items provide boni that could be transferred to slaves?

Only items with non-BE/BF, non-summoning, caster-targeting OBS:

Copper plate, as mentioned above.

Bell of Cleansing: Not sure if this is a caster effect. Maybe.

Crystal Shield: I'm pretty sure you'll get PoTS on the slaves with this one.

Sandals of the Crane: Yes! Insta-blink on the communion, woo hoo! :D

The Black Mirror: Grants Disbelieve. If that's AoE 0 on the caster, slaves get it too. Not exactly anything to go crazy about.

I suspect the effects would go in slot order, so armor before misc.,. So copper plate would be cast before the communion master.

However, interesting idea

Eye of the void lets you dispel illusion.
Equip crystl matrix, eye of the void, script blinkx5... wonder if you could end a MoD that way...

Bell of Cleansing lists itself as the castor....

They don't go in the conventional slot order. Matrix + Crystal Shield works just fine, IIRC.

Yeah, I doubt it'll work. Same would be with spirit helmet and Scutata Volturnus then, and quite possibly nethgul/carcarator

It basically has to be a buff to work, because it has to be an effect cast on the mage, not on something else.
