I've been thinking about purchasing AATF, but had some questions. What countries are included in the game? Of those countries what equipment/TO&E is modeled? How easy is it to make scnerios? How easy is to make maps from real world data (SRTM)?

Thanks

21, if I recall AATF has scenarios and therefore TOE databases for Mogadishu, Afghanistan, Vietnam, and East Germany I think.
If you read some of the threads below you'll see I had trouble at first making maps. Its not hard but it is alot of little steps, and does take a while. Once you actually get the SRTM data converted and imported into the power tool kit its downhill from there.
Heres the SRTM conversion PDF :

Heres the offical power toolkit PDF :

My only beef...none of the ATF series runs on linux/Wine.

AATF also allows you to buy any of our other titles, either in the ATF or AATF line, and install AATF over them. You can then play the older, armor-based scenarios in the newer engine.

If the AATF entry price is too steep, you can purchase Battle Group Commander (less than $20), instead. Installing this "mini-game" over older ATF or AATF games will also allow you to play older scenarios in the new interface/engine.

Well I'm definitely more interested in armor based scenarios. If I mainly play with US/British & Soviet forces I guess ATF & BCG would be the way to go. Do any of the old games include German forces?

Not that I can recall. But then there is always the scenario editor and power toolkit :)

Well Major, I took the plunge today. I purchased ATF & BCG. Thinks for helping me make my decision.
