What it really does? Protects from being charmed?

1) It adds a bonus to the bearer's defense rating.
2) It increases the chance of seduction when worn by succubi.
3) It counts as armor, so it applies for the purposes of an earth blessing (or so I've been told.)

It's a +1 modification to seduction. Bear claw is -1. It's possible that this effect is independent of who is wearing the item(s). But +1/-1 does not change the roll very much.

I'm not certain on the mechanics of seduction, but in most Dominions random rolls, a +1 is a big deal.

seduction goes from never working, to almost never working.
Its still never worthwhile.

You mean it goes from 'its an assassination style with issues' to 'its usually an assassination style with issues, but rarely it has a happy ending', don't you?
