How does a vampire lord's summon allies command work? is it a constant stream or does it depend on population or corpses or something?

Its a constant stream, as are all summon allies commands.

You'll get more vampires by blood hunting and then casting Blood Rite, than you do by Summon Allies.

But you lose income that way, whereas you don't lose any by "summon allies" command. It's a double edged sword :)

You're losing utility/wasting time by using summon allies, is the point. I think the edging of the sword weighs heavily against ever using the command.

I think when all reasearch is done and all good hunting provs are occupied and all the blood is already spent and you still have free vamp lords - summon allies is the way to go.

Or you could, you know, use them to actually do stuff. Like fight/cast.

But how often would that happen in an MP game?
In MP actions are often debated down to a difference of one. Such as 1 gem, or 1 slave, or 1 turn. In that case summon allies would probably be considered a waste.
But in large games or solo games its thematic and cuts down on micromanagement. Everything has its pros and cons.
