Hey all - just wondering if someone who had looked at the back end of the formulas had a sense for how much unrest is caused/prevented by what level of taxation? The game is very clear about how blood hunting generates unrest, but not very clear about how taxes reduce or generate it.

Basic Q: If I have 30 unrest, 3 bloodhunters, and 0 taxes, can I hunt with one and still hope to hit 0 unrest?

Advanced Q: If I have X unrest, how many turns will it take for 0 taxes to eliminate it?

Thanks!

In the manual it says that each 10point of tax above 100 raise unrest by 3, and each ten under 100 lower it by 5. The manual, actually, says this exactly.

But does not explain blood hunting unrest. Although there is a forumla for the blood hunter chance not find slaves due to unrest... It might be 1-(unrest/400)=chance of passing this test.

Actually, the manual says that, on a failed bloodhunt, unrest will increase by d6-1, while a successfull one will generate
d(slaves*3+4) unrest.

However, the same manual has been proven wrong in so many cases(just see the fear mechanics) that I'd much rather wait for input from veteran players and their actual game experience:)

I was looking in the wrong part of the manual, out by Dominion. Sorry.

However, now that I have found it, my manual says:

Every 5% above 100 increases unrest by 1.
Every 3% below 100 decreases unrest by 1.

Is this different now?

My feeling is that it is more random than that, but I've never explicitly tested it.

There also seems to be a dominion effect.
I know will decrease inside your dominion even at 100% tax.

It's been my experience that, yes it seems to decrease is your dominion is good, especially if its particularly strong. But that is just anecdote. And I'm sure a DRN is involved somehow.

If you are in enemy dominion you will sit at unrest of 3-4 ish. Which suggests that if enemy dominion unrest = drn.

Or d6.

DRN would mean you could suddenly get unrest in high double digits, which I've never seen.

I think enemy dom unrest is something in the ballpark of a third of a point per candle.

Or d6.

DRN would mean you could suddenly get unrest in high double digits, which I've never seen.

which is why I said drn, following the manual convention.
DRN = 2 dice.
drn = 1 die.

Most things Dominions are DRN. But magic duel, dispelling globals, and unrest are drn afaik.

It does not matter the number of enemy candles.

DRN = 2 dice, accumulating and re-rolling on 6's.
drn = 1 die, accumulating and re-rolling on 6's.
d6 = 1 die

Globals is a drn.
Magic Duel is d6.
