I was wondering...does an Ice Crafter, with his inherent 25% Forge Bonus, benefit from the additional 25% Forge Bonus provided by a Dwarven Hammer?

I'm not sure, but most things in the game appear to stack, so I'd be surprised if it didn't.

Yes, just like every other unit with an inherent forge bonus.

The total bonus becomes 50%, rounded down - a 5-gem item would cost 2 gems to make, and something that costs 25 a, 15 b would cost 12 a, 7 b.
Setting up efficient crafters is often key in multiplayer games ;)

You can get the bonus to -80%, which is the cap :)
Note that similar bonuses from sites don't stack with each other, even if you have them in the same province, only the strongest bonus will have an effect.

So, if I have an Ice Crafter (25% Forge Bonus) equipped with a Dwarven Hammer (25% FB) forging in a province with The Steel Ovens (20% FB), what would be the total FB? 50% or 70%?

70%.
He's saying that if you have both the Steel Ovens + Banefire Forge (each 20%) you don't get 40%.

It would be 70%.
The problem is when you have something like the bottomless site (20%) + ultimate gateway (50%) for conjuration, then only one site (the better one) gives the discount. I use this example because it's a combination I have seen more than once...
Oh, and I realized that the cap isn't quite 80%, it's 1 per pathlevel to craft the item (ergo, 80% for all low level items).
Edit: Ninjas, here?

I could be wrong, haven't checked this in awhile, but I don't think it's that simple.
The personal bonus and the item bonus stack directly. He'll be at 50% anywhere. I think that sites or the Forge apply their discount to the remaining cost, which would put him around 60% with the ovens, depending on rounding.
There are several long threads on this topic, if you can find them.

100% forge bonus [4 armed pretender with 2 unique 50% discount hammers] is 80% bonus, checked on big items like RoW. You can get more than 80% if you have Forge or magic site on top of huge forge bonus afaik.

The lowest possible cost is 1 per magic level required to make the item, so that's the actual cap - it just works out to 80% for all items with a cost up to 15gems.

No, you can make items with 0 cost.

My tests state otherwise. I tested this with a commander having natural 90% bonus plus dwarwen hammer.

This probably depends on game version. Previously (about a year ago) I made 5-gem items for free with less bonus. It may be possible, though, that for such tricks, the Forge IS required. Try with it.

A commander with a natural 100% bonus needs to pay 1 gem, at least - there's one in my little fate/sprite works mod - though again, site or global bonuses might let it go lower, I dunno.

There is no such cap with Forge of the Ancients. It is quite possible to forge 5-gem items for free when you stack FotA, Dwarven Hammer, Steel Ovens, and an inherent forge bonus.
