View Full Version : Wishlist A Dom3 mess hall

You know, there's a lot of things that I love talking about on forums. Usually though, I prefer to talk about them w/people in the sections I generally frequent. The shrapnel bar and grill imo just tries to combine too many forums. I think it would make some sense for dom3 to have its own mess hall/pub/bar&grill/whatever for us as a community to talk about OT subjects without clogging up the main discussion. Now, this is a wishlist, not a demand of any sort. If it would really take an immense amount of effort to put together than that's that. Still, I think it makes sense, and could prove rewarding.
Thoughts?

Hey, I thought they called that the Irc channel? :P
We talk about all kinds of off topic stuff!

Barbeque! And beer (for those of legal age)!
I don't know, maybe we could talk about food and dominions? Oh wait, we do that on IRC ;). Still, not a bad idea, especially for those who do not use IRC as we do.

Plenty of people would use it that wouldn't use irc though.
Personally if I'm having an off topic discussion I don't want/need any rules dictating what I can talk about, so if there was such a forum here, I wouldn't use it.

Shrapnels Bar and Grill forum I think is part of their effort to remind people that there is more here than just one game. Along with adding the side bars (remember the anger at that)
But Id have to agree with Sombre on the subject.
And also agree that IRC fills the bill. Or other forums.

I think that a publisher sponsored board is probably the wrong place. They have certain rules restrict some conversations like Sombre says. And it's their board and they have business reasons for most of those restrictions.

I still think that the forums CHAT failed partly because the first thing you see when you enter is a warning that you are still in Shrapnel country liable to their rules. Anyone who has used something like IRC is likely to balk at that.
In case anyone is surprised (which seems to happen every time its mentioned) that we actually have a chat, its up higher on the screen you are looking at. Right next to the Forum Rules link :)

I think it is a good idea. Not everyone uses IRC. I know personally I often have much to say :D but not enough forum outlets to do it in.
Though I wish the Shrapnel chat were used more often and awareness of it was more widespread. Good to have some talk and debate about everything even OT topics, shows we are still alive.

CHAT
What does that acronym stand for anyway?
