I've been messing around with BattleSim_v3, but it doesn't seem to support non-level 0 spells. I can set a unit to start with a non-level 0 spell, but he loses it as soon as I host the turn. Is there any mod or way to simulate a battle in which non-level 0 spells are cast?

If you want to test a specific single spell then check out the "spell" keyword for the Debug console battle simulator (http://dom3.servegame.com/wiki/Debug_Console#Battle_simulation_commands).
