View Full Version : Really slow under Windows 7

I am revisiting Dom3 (it's like looking up an old friend that you lost touch with...) but I have a Windows 7 machine now and it runs REALLY slow. Very bad framerate, pretty much unplayable. When it runs, it maxes out one of my processors. I am running it under Windows XP compatability mode and as administrator, and I've got a decent machine (3.00 Ghz dual core, 4 Gigs ram, Nvidia GEForce 9600 Video card), so I'm at a loss as to why this is happening. I've looked at the other posts on Windows 7, and I couldn't find one that addressed this issue...it would be really nice to play Dom3 again...anybody have any ideas as to how I can fix this?

Thanks in advance,

AMF

two ideas:

Try various compatibility modes. That worked for me.
If that doesn't work, check out a program called TAME

Also make sure that your graphics drivers are updated to the latest ones from the manufacturer.

Edi, Thanks! That totally worked. And, it's embarrassing as well - that should've been the first thing I tried...
