Fight against Communion mages

Hi all.

It´s any good strategy to fight against a couple of mages in communion?

mass destruction spells such as Rain of Stones, Acid Rain, etc will devastate communions of weak mages. so that's the standard counter. however such communions also have ways to defend themselves, mainly if they're on the defensive(hence acting first) so really it depends on the situation, which mages are communioned, are they alone or with an army(and which army), what tools you have at your disposal, etc.

Basically, throwing something at them that they aren't scripted for. Earth Attack, Seeking Arrow, Fires from Afar (Flames from the sky), or even a few Send Horrors or Armies of the Dead (it depends on what they're scripted to fight against, undead can be an unpleasant surprise if they're hoping to fatigue-out their opponents, Horrors are a good surprise if they're scripted to fight armies more than SCs). Basically, the best way I've found to kill them is with a battle of attrition. Make them lose the mages without losing too much yourself.

I had 50 Behemoths and my pretender scripted to cast mass flight in a battle against a large communion army. Alas, my opponent brought Tempest with him. All my Behemoths died in a senseless charge, right into the dying meat shield of double blessed Jaguar Warriors. (BoT was up, and I also cast Rigor Mortis, Grip of Winter, and Quagmire.) I did wind up with Tempest, though. :)
