Most avoid flame helmets, due to exhaustion. But with a prot of 5, on top of its normal helmet protection, it can be quite useful to make a SC.
Crystal Hearts. Reinvig 10!. Perfect little communion batteries.
Elixir of life - fatigue 0 on the remix.
It seems as if the combination of life after death and soul slay, gaze of death etc, is an undead mage with 1 hp and few afflctions.
I'm not crazy about the 1 hp, but it does make them useful (if frail) holders of fever fetishes.

I'm pretty sure that Earth Bless & Legions of Steel (as these apply to anything that gives armor) also give additional prot when you wear a Flame Helmet. But it is too costly for just a helmet

Methinks Crystal hearts dont grant any reinvig, its just a poor man's Elixir of life. You must be thinking of Heart of life, dont you?

Earth Bless and LoS will give their protection bonus to a helmet, but that is specific head protection, not a overall prot boost like the bracers give.

I always thought the flame helmet should only exhaust you if you were not immune to fire. King of elemental fire puts on the flame helmet and passes out from the heat?

Flame Hemlet is a different thing. It gives just +5 prot on top of head prot and I believe this applies to both head and body

Read the flavor text on the flame helmet FAJ, it's not the heat causing the exhaustion.

Yep. Although I meant to comment on the crystal heart as well as another underused gem, and in editing apparently cojoined the two. thanks for the catch.
