View Full Version : Bug Colossal Fetish Dies Instantly on Rout

When the Colossal Fetish accompanies an army that routs, the fetish dies instantly when the rout starts.
This is probably just the standard mindless unit behavior, so it would require a specific adjustment in code to prevent the fetish from dying on rout. This would be the only way to fix the error other than removing the mindless flag from the pretender.

Not a bug.
Colossal fetish is mindless.
However, it used to be true that if the colossal fetish was quick (and flying) that he would route off the board before the check for dead was made.
But, iirc, you need 100% quickness. Or get lucky - you need two actions the turn the route happens. Would you check it and let me know if thats still the case?

It might be a while... Death on rout means that he can only be used with other mindless units and you have to be pretty sure you're not going to get routed by time... That makes him a bit less useful if it's intentional that he dies on rout.

Like golem, Colossal Fetish is pretty fragile due to this - a well known thing. It looks like a good pretender but in fact is not.

Frankly speaking, I still don't see any logic in mindless commanders dying after rout. If they're so mindless they can't find themselves after retreating from battlefield, how in the hell can they command troops? It is logical when applied to troops (i.e. longdead or mechanical crits) but is nonsense when speaking of commanders.

Mindless commanders never rout. They die when turn limit comes. *puff* and they are gone, you can do nothing about it, even if enemy is routing. So I'd never take colossal fetish, unless some blitz game, for fun. So meh nation with meh pretender.

Mindless commanders never rout.
They do. Try scripting "retreat"

Sigh. And again, try scripting retreat with 100% quickness and flying.

That's a bug on top of another bug, chris. I hate such things :)
