I know that when you get fatigued, your defense goes down. Does your protection also go down?

No, but a fatigued unit might receive a critical hit which does A LOT more damage then usual.

No, the original poster is more correct. On a critical hit armor defense counts half.

My memory says that this does *not* stack with AP attacks. Ie., and AP attack against a fatigued defender is not using 1/4 armor on a critical hit.

But tests would be better than my memory.

After reading the wiki (http://dom3.servegame.com/wiki/Combat_mechanics#Fatigue) I got the impression that the proper mechanics of critical hits was disputed. But I couldn't find any proper statistics supporting it when I checked the reference (http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=38714&page=3)

well, its relatively easy to test.

swarm 1 + DRN damage vs Prot 12 troops.

Prot/2 you would see a lot more 1-2 points of damage than if its damage *2.

Except that Swarm units do AN damage, capped at 1 point.

Barring these issues, it's the perfect test.
