Sorry to ask such simple question, but how do I rename commanders?

I've looked in the book and haven't found a shortcut key. There is no 'rename' command in the command tooltip. I've tried clicking on the name and hitting 'r'.

And yes, the game is set to allow renaming.

Right-click on the commander to bring up his stats and then hit 'r'.

Right-click on the commander and at the view commander screen hit "r".

So, I apparently hit r one screen off. Thank you. I had a feeling it was like that. Where is this stated/where did I miss it?

I dont think it is mentioned anywhere.
In fact if I remember it was added in later.
