If there is still room, I would like to play Pangaea. Mind you, this would be my first MP game, so I would understand if you'd rather have someone with some experience. Having a newbie around can really unbalance things for the better players. I do understand the mods and how to use the Llammaserver.
Let me know your decision, Ferrosol.

Hmm I am not sure this is a good game for a complete newbie. Most of these mods are still fairly new and rather unbalanced. You would most likely be overrun fairly quickly given the number of vets in the game so I would prefer someone with at least a bit more experience.

Valerius said he was considering starting a new newbie game soon. Maybe you could PM him and let him know you're interested.

This map is kind of crowded with 11/3. Maybe we dont need that last land player?

Will give it till Sunday night to find one more player failing that we will start with just who we have.
Also In a blatant misuse of power I am completely changing my Nation to Pythium from Caelum.Remember though you were always at war with Pythium. Big Admin is watching you!

You know, we have alot of mods involved in this game. Is there anyone who could combine them all in one zip file to make sure we are all using the same one's?

I tried doing it myself using Pygs mod combiner but it seems I am too retarded to use Python. Still if someone could do it I would be grateful.

If it helps, there is a combined mod for the first 3, (CBM, ED, UWGIM) made for the Inversions game, which we're currently using in the Troubled Times game. It's also linked to the OP of that game thread, and uploaded to the llamaserver. (Since the original link from the inversions game doesn't seem to work anymore.) It might be a start for you guys.
Edit: I say to two guys playing in that game...
Ah, well. Good intentions and all that...

Right the game is up on Llamaserver and there is now a download in the first post that contains all the needed mod files.

Dammit, I was absorbed with working and totally forgot.
Pretender sent.
Edit: Hmm... Seems to be some kind of mod problem going on. The game asks for "uwgim0.94+cbm1.6.dm" which isn't included in the mod pack in the OP. I tried to rename the UWGIM_national.dm but that didn't work out.
Ferrosol
September 17th, 2010, 06:06 PM
Minor bug with the Llamaserver and UWGIM it should be sorted now but you will need this new .dm file here, Ignore the first turn you recived and use the second one.
Ferrosol
September 20th, 2010, 02:31 PM
Yet another screw up with the Llamaserver it seems it does not like mods with a space in their names so I have restarted the game yet again and you now need another fixed .dm file. This time blame Sombre and his inexplicable habit of leaving spaces in his mod names.

I was under the impression that Ferrosol modified the map to grant all land starting positions at least five neighbor provinces-- five land, or four land and one sea.
Though, I have not personally checked the map setup.
Ferrosol
September 27th, 2010, 01:36 PM
I made sure that no potential starting province had less than 3 land connections (for land provinces) or 3 sea connections (for sea provinces) beyond that I set up no fixed start provinces. Next time I start a game it will be with a map with fixed starts on or at least I will find someone with a nodding acquaintance with map modding.

Raiel, I drooled when I saw your starting position. What the heck are you complaining about? You have 6 land provinces Adjacent to your capitol, 1 water province too. 3 mountain,1 forest. What is there not to like?

Interesting how quick everyone is to assume they know why I don't like random starts... more interesting is that no one (other than Ferrosol) has posted something factually accurate. (Rytek may want to re-examine the nation selection.)
Rytek
September 27th, 2010, 10:05 PM
umm, arent you playing Shinyuma? The original sign up post says you are... Oh, I looked again. That is a second fortress. I mistook it for your capitol. My apologies.

I stated that I had not personally checked the map setup--that is quite factually accurate.
As for the cause of your dislike: I surmised that it was either adjacent province quality or that you were placed very close to another player.
I attempted the courtesy of not publicly assuming you were unable to defend yourself in an early war.

One neighbor starting within 3 provinces of my own would be dissappointing, but two is just absurd. Especially when both neighbors have little choice but to expand into territory that would have been mine without contest had I not been pinched.
This just isn't fun - I handicap myself enough by rarely (if ever) playing the same nation twice and trying to go with builds and nations that are not recognized as top-tier.
Muse: Assume whatever you like. It's a game.

My apologies for staleing the last few turns. There's been some stuff going on in real life, and since I'm down to just my home province I figured I was just about out of thh game anyway and a few stale turns wouldn't effect things in any real way. I'm really surprised to find I'm still around at all :)

And a worthy attack it was! Attacking with every caster under your command. Not too many players realize that is what it takes sometimes. I got the lucky side on a few of our fights, ive enjoyed them immensely.
