Hi all,
I just paid for the next 3 years of LlamaServer hosting, which cost £189.69 (it's cheaper to pay in 3 year chunks you see).
Now, while I'd expected to be rich now that I have job rather than being a student, for some reason I'm not (I think it has to do with driving to work or something - petrol is so expensive!), so it's a bit of a nasty amount to cough up. So, I was wondering if the community might be able to contribute a bit towards the costs.
I've put up a paymenty-thingy here:

Any contributions very gratefully received!! :)

Good timing! I recently entered the 21st century and got one of those new-fangled Paypal accounts (though it appears Pledgie accepts credit cards as well).
I take a funny sort of pride in having been a llamaserver beta tester in the Alpaca game. Thanks again for providing this to the community.

Pledgie accepts credit cards? Oh. Didn't get that part. I'll try that. It's the conversion to those strange types of money that confuses me.

I was nearly disappointed to see pledgie caps it to the actual server costs, you do deserve to collect more than it imho.
Come on guys, the costs are still not met. To your paypal accounts!

Hah, so you've joined the ranks of us working schlobs then? Only just started this (school-) year, or have you been working for while already?
The single most horrible thing about starting to work for me was that I was allways so horribly tired so terribly early in the evenings, really falling asleep wathever I was doing.
If you're in the same boat as me, let me just reassure you: it passes, luckily enough. Still have to get up early, but somehow you (or at least I) learn to ignore the sleepiness and keep up (relatively) late doing all kinds of neat stuff.

When you make a pledge, is it denominated in pounds sterling?
I should probably get approval from the wife before i donate anything (putting more money into 'that game' without asking first is likely to not go over well), but llamaserver is well worth it!

Wow, thanks so much everyone for the generosity. Some of you have made ridiculously large donations! I mean really, thankyou very much indeed. I am repeatedly really impressed by the generosity of the dominions community.
We're most of the way towards the target now, so if a few more of you have a few pounds (or equivalent) you could contribute the costs should be covered, which would be really fantastic.
Amhazair: Been working about a year now actually. It's very reassuring what you say about being knackered in the evenings! I do get that, and to begin with I got it very badly indeed! Didn't know what was wrong with me. Here's to hoping that it carries on getting better so that I'm actually able to get some constructive stuff done in the evenings (mostly all I manage to do is eat and pootle around a bit, I would love to be making progress on another personal project).

Well, you get used to working, then you have kids. And it starts again. Then you get old and you are just plain tired.

llama, you do realise that if you two-time on us, then we will be expecting half these donations back in the divorce settlement.
So I think staying faithful will be best for you all round. Both financially and physically. As a lot of mean angry women play this game, all of whom own a king size frying pan and a collection of big heavy rolling pins.

Hello! Apologies for not posting again here - I've been on holiday away from internet access for a bit more than a week. Badly timed I suppose.
Anyway, I just wanted to say a really big THANKYOU to everyone who donated. A number of you were really ridiculously generous, and the costs have been more than covered. Thankyou all very much indeed, you're all great. :D

Hi all...
...I just paid...£189.69...
...for...holiday.
...THANKYOU to everyone who donated...you're all great. :D
So that's where all the donated cash went!
But then Dr.llama deserves a vacation on us for the invaluable server he provides the community with, in exchange for a holiday every three years ;)
