I´m going to fight in a mega battle (MP) in a hex.

My ask is:

What is the maximum number of my units that can enter into a battle in a castle hex without?

More than you have. Unless maybe you are LA Ermor. Thousands at least.

I know there's a total units limit, but I don't know of one for battles.

The battle field can start behaving a little oddly after a certain size. BAttlefield area effect spells don't affect the whole army, things like that.

From my experience, it's best to avoid mega battles as they can crash the game.

Haha. I wouldn't want to attack a castle with thousands of units, all funneling through a two square wide hole...lol.

Doesn't really matter. By the time you're using thousands of troops, you're also buffing them so much they can't really hurt each other. Assume lucky, regenerating, protection 20+.

You're killing them with spells and to a lesser extent thugs. The masses are just there to keep the other masses from getting to your mages.

somewhere past the 3k troop mark, you can walk around the castle face wall and into the interior. Clearly, dom3 architects never figured on anyone adopting the ingenious tactic of approaching from the side. (And dom3 armies only stumble onto it accidentally when the army is wider than the castle!)

If there were another way our God would have told us about it. Duh.

oh, and if you have 3k or so troops, you can raise skeletons inside the walls. lawl
