None of my new games seem to be actually materializing, and my main game seems to be stuck in permaslow, so I thought I would float an idea for a new game.

Presumably it wont start until the new patch hits so we have time.

Everything except graphs off is subject to debate.

The idea: insanely huge armies of guys so well armored they can barely move.

Mods- SingleAgeMod (+some CBM/EDM at least for pretenders, 1.8 if it comes out in time?)

Magic Sites-LOW (whatever will give 5% for grassland so weenies can still search if they want?)

resources: 300 percent!

money/supplies probably higher than normal, but not by much, I dont want people buying extra mages without having a serious tradeoff. (Money 150%, Supplies 175-200%)

very difficult research.

The problem is I need a good map. I think 8-12 people max.

That way if someone finds an overwhelming strat for the extra production it wont drag on for years.

Any interest or map suggestions?

That sounds like a cool idea for a game. I assume it would be restricted to nations like Ulm, Abysia or Marignon, with lots of heavy troops. I'm not that sure what a good map would be though.

I need another game and would be interested in this. This sounds like Scourge of Nations that I'm currently playing in, although you are taking the minimal magic/lots of troops even further. I would be in favor of the participants picking an allowed list of nations that fit the parameters and then having them randomly assigned.

I'm interested.

I dunno about having nations randomly assigned. I'd prefer to pick from allowed nations.

I'll play.

I'll play as well.
I like the idea of an agreed upon list of nations followed by random assignment.
The premise sounds interesting :)

Sorry, I'm gonna have to bow out of this one. Have fun!

I would love to play, although I would prefer to also pick from allowed nations rather than just getting one randomly assigned.

Also, might I suggest adding Niefelheim to the list of nations Baalz was good enough to suggested above? They have a reasonable amount of armor on most of their troops.

Don't add all the power nations - I mean MA ermor benefits hugely from having cranked up resources, but it's still not a good idea to add them to the game.

Niefel are about blessed supermen, not heavy armor.

Shortly after I started the thread, I made a very long post about which nations probably should be disallowed, but it seems never to have made it in. Dammit!

Here's a short version:

I think giant nations should be allowed only if they would fit well with the human nations and their sacreds are not intended to be production limited. Ashdod is clearly out. Hinnom likewise. Formoria out. I think Jotunheim could be in. If people want them. Niefelheim I think is too much, but I suppose it is arguable. I don't know enough about Gath or Utgard to have an opinion.

Sauromatia I think should be out since armor doesnt help against the androphag archers. Which is a shame cause they have some lovely cav.

Baalz list looks good to me mostly. EA TC would get stomped imho, but if someone wishes to play them they may.

I think if we allow water nations we need to allow more than just Oceania. Doesn't atlantis have insanely heavy troops?

My list included MA and LA Pan, and Machaka, if anyone wants them. MA Ctis should nominally qualify, but the miasma makes it up for debate.

Bogarus makes me nervous, but if no one else objects, I have little experience with their cbm selves and will not disallow them. LA Ulm I though was just undead and blood, but I have no problem with them if no one else does.

EA abysia also makes me nervious, since their sacreds are clearly meant to be resource limited, but unless someone objects I guess they can be included.

Objections to any nation or nominations for ones left out may be made by PM to preserve privacy, if you wish.

While I personally think random assignment would be cool, I wanted a small enough game where it isnt feasible, given the number of nations we have.

Everyone send me your top 3 choices (by PM or post here) and I will work out the assignments. I really have no idea for a map but I guess we should wait and see how many people we have here. I think I would like to limit it to 10 or 12.

Thanks!

My picks:
1. EA Abysia
2. MA Abysia
3. MA Marignon

I like burning things.:) Oh, and I think Niefleheim should be banned as it doesn't really match the spirit of the game, that is,lots and lots of heavily armoured soldiers.

Some crude testing suggests the economic settings should be something like 150% income 300% resources and 175% supplies. Any objections/ suggestions?

My picks:

1. MA Ulm
2. LA Ulm
3. LA Man

Personally, I think that MA C'tis should be allowed to play if someone wants them, simply because the Miasma is made up for them having, arguably, some of the worst troops of the nations listed.

And those settings sound good rabelais.

Sure. I was hoping for more people. So who has a map they like for 5?

It would be nide to have more participants... Seriously guys, no one else wants to join this innovative game?

Rabelais, have you advertized on the other forum?

I'm still in.. just not sure what the best nation choices would be for this set-up. I'll do some research this evening and post my choices later tonight.
