I'm currently playing a battle USMC vs Japan. I've noticed that at times my troops are routed or pull back easily, at least to me. For example,I move a squad up, it suffers 1 casualty and then pulls back. Anyone else notice this? To me its not realistic. Thanks.

You don't say how much supressive fire or artillery they took besides actual causlites when they retreat.
Marines early in the war in the Pacific were green, the japanese veterns by the time US got in the war, they'll get better with time:)

I wanted to begin several long campaigns with the U.S. and had the same problems. Is that low-quality troops are beginning. We must take care and treatment experience. The fields of early season (Aleut, Guadalcanal) do not allow good use of tanks, that make the difference. Japanese aircraft also has superiority.
I think it looks a lot like the beginning of the war for U.S.
If you do not like you can configure some points. Give more experienced soldiers, establish points of air and more.

Thanks for your answers. The battle is in 1942 and troop experience looks like it was a factor. Also, this started happening after many turns of combat which would indicate a morale and experience factor also. Thanks again.

I started another campaign since 1942. Truth does not have to worry about winning the early battles. We must protect the troops to gain experience. I'm on the defensive and withdrawn if it gets ugly.
