Dom_3 Modding and Database Files

With the 3.26 update probably the last update for awhile any chance we'll see updates for the Modding PDF or the valuable Dom3 database file written in excel?

I believe the modding pdf has already been updated, and the updated pdf was included in the patch! :)

There haven't been that many unit statfixes since 3.23b, so the DB should still be more or less accurate. The item section is the one that most needs work, but it was the most recent addition and did not have as much attention devoted to it.

EDIT: And as llamabeast says, the modding.pdf was (or should have been) updated in this patch with the #heretic and #uwcom and #uwunit commands. I know I sent the updated manual to Johan.

Well the updated pdf was not included within the 3.26 patch I downloaded. My modding.pdf still shows Feb19th_2010. Could you please send me the more recent PDF?

I know the 3.23b is our most current version and very accurate, but I figured there might have been a few corrections/update since it's release. :)

Yep, problem verified. Thanks for reporting it.

Can't send you the copy immediately, but I've reported the issue to both
Shrapnel and Illwinter. I expect we will get a response soon enough and a quick resolution to the problem as well.

The file was included in the Linux and Mac patches, but was accidentally left out of the Windows patch and I was given the go-ahead to upload it to my own web pages.

Since the modding pdf won't be updated for awhile, should this information be within the FAQ sticky?

I'll add it there later once I hear what Shrapnel has to say. They may yet elect to host the modding manual themselves. It is, after all, official game documentation, so having it privately hosted by someone unaffiliated (for all that I am a moderator here) is not necessarily an optimal solution.

The modding manual is now hosted by Shrapnel Games and can be downloaded from the Dominions 3 product page, just like the patches.

The copy at my site has therefore been deleted.
