View Full Version : Why does rust mist break ice armor?

I've noticed that, despite ice armor being described as "magical armor", and rust saying it breaks only non-magical armor, ice armor is still destroyed by rust. This seems sorta odd.. Is it a bug? How does ice rust, anyway?

I thought only destruction was stopped by magical armor, rust mist should work on magical armor. At least according to the spell description.

I think "magical armor" in this context means "armor forged via Construction magic". Destruction works on Caelian Iceclads, for instance.

Maybe the rust mist is warm....

...No, wait, rust mist affects furs as well. It probably affects every kind of default armor--turtle shell, leather, coral, whatever. It's just a generic "corrosive" mist, not specifically a rusting mist. That "rust" is referred to so much may be seen as a minor mistake in the game's textual descriptions. (Or, if you like, you can consider it a bug in the mechanical action of the spell. I think mechanics trump text, myself.)

now, on the serious side, when the description of these spells(destruction, rust mist, iron bane, etc) says "magical armor" it means forged armors, not all default magical armor types. so basically, unless a unit is wearing a forged armor its armor will become rusty and break on the next contact with the enemy.
