I just got the CD version, it says it is v 1.012-CD, do I need to run the UPG's 2 to 5 for the CD version?
Thanks,
Barry Summers

Just a wish, now that the count of updates is rising (and as every one knows, occasionally you change computer or your disk fails or you reinstall your OS) could you make a batch update file so that people could download and install just a single update? If there's some compelling reason that makes it impossible or too hard to do, then by all means discard this wish. Having recently both bought a new computer and replaced a defective drive I would really appreciate this.

The idea is already under active consideration becasue of the problems win7 and Vista have created.
However, not everyone has high speed internet and I don't like the idea of forcing someone who needs a 6MB patch to DL a 40 MB patch

Also, if you re using Vista or Win7 we HIGHLY recommend you DO NOT install the games in the default "Program Files" folder. Install the game on your main drive any place but "Program Files"

I recently purchased a second game CD after having bought one when it first came out because I thought it would incorporate all of the updates and of course I was wrong. Still, I'd like to see an updated game CD sold. Maybe some day . . .

The solution will be to merge all the patches except the newest one. That way when a new patch is released, like WinSPMBT v5.5 it will still be 15.5MB. However the rest of patches v2.0-5.0 could be merged into one as they will be used be people who reinstall the game.

Yes, we are aware of that. The point is, aside from the "inconvenience" of having to press the button 6 times to DL each patch anyone with a high speed connection would be able to DL even the largest existing patch in virtually no time at all. Anyone with dial-up would be forced to get one huge patch instead of a half dozen smaller ones. ( and NO I'm not really interested in maintaining multiple patch combinations because it would be "easier" for some people to DL one patch in under a minute instead if DLing and installing a half dozen in a couple of minutes ).
That said, we haven't totally dismissed the idea. It's just that we're both a bit burnt out ATM and it's summertime.
As to upgraded game CD's there is no way that would even be considered until existing stocks are depleted.

Heres a solution as these games dont write to the registry.
Install & patch the game then copy it & call backup or something then if ever need to just replace with it. Simple solution for those with big hard drives or who back up

Why not have both? Consolidate them all in one patch plus leave the originals available.
