I found this site... does this mean conjuring forces costs 20% less in gems, or that I get 20 bonus points in researching conjuration, or that conjured beings have 20% hit points, etc.?

It's a 20% reduction in the gems you use for ritual spells. Don't use it for globals though, since you have to go up to the normal cost or it can just be dispelled easily.

Cool... not bad at all.

I've been wondering about those sites and globals actually: do they only reduce the base cost for casting the global or does the modifier apply to all of the gems spent (i.e. 100 gems spent counting as 200 with a 50% site) ?

it doesn't work well with globals, so just use it for regular spells.

Casting a global just puts the gem counter lower. So if the global normal would cost 40 gems, a 50% site would put the cost of the global at 20. Which sounds good. But if you want to boost the global with additional gems, you need to put more in than the normal 40. So then the bonus site doesn't help.

It works if you cast a minimal cost global. But apart from that, bonus sites don't help global sites. And as you normally want to boost globals with higher number of gems to prevent them from being overwritten/dispelled, the site isn't useful for globals.

It can be good for throwing up early globals. Often an early Mother Oak or the like will be unopposed for awhile. It may also be worth using it for some of the other gem gens. If you shorten the payback time enough who cares if it goes down afterwards.

It may also be worth running a bluff. Throw a discount global up and they either leave it alone, or waste a ton of gems bringing it down.

All this only works if there are slots empty. Once they're all full, the discount site won't help much for globals.
