Hi Everyone

A group of players have been playing a SP team game on a modified map vs AI's. So what this means is that the human players are allied against AI's that have been designed to have advantages over a stock AI. An example of this is the AI's have Giant Stone Heads decked out in research gear to give the AI a research boost. The map was also run through the SemiRand program which makes some of the indie provinces a lot tougher than any level 9 heavy cavalry indie province.

The game is going well, already there are some lessons learned about what makes a good game for this style, and rather than clog up the games thread with talk on improving this style of play this thread is opened.

I've opened it up in the main forum thread and not the MP forum because single player players don't go to the MP thread and it would be good to have more players rather than less interested.

To start conversation, I think what would be better next time would be to have less human players. It would even be cool to start two games using the same .map file, so even though its not directly competitive, there is still that drive for your team to do better than the team in the other game.

Cheers All :)

I rather like the toughened independents. If this was run through CBM where charm/seduction was more effective scouting then capturing prime leaders would be a distinctly viable option.

Not sure if you want me to discuss my idea for Dominion effect theme here or not :}

I really like the two game thing. You should add that to the game ideas thread.

Discuss anything. There is a little bit of effort required to set up the game and of course to play the game. The merits of different set-ups need to be discussed as it would be terrible to go to all the effort to get a game going only to find its either no challenge, too much challenge or is a chore.

Personally I wouldn't look to participate in a game as your describing because I don't need micromanagement hell right now, sure MA C'tis is ok but LA Ermor and R'lyeh..... Other than this I can't see any reason why you couldn't do a game like this.

I think three humans is the optimal number of players.

I really like the two game thing.

You could even create quality maps just for SP challenges and create a top score list based on, I guess, the quickest winning date.
