Hey. I have a big astral mage with that 'piece of the sun' artifact that means he's always getting attacked by horrors. I was wondering if it is possible to enslave mind a horror, or if I should go with paralysing and soul slaying.

Cheers folks

It is possible, but they break free after a few turns.

Yes you can, but a horror you normally would see, like those attracted by your horror mark, or send/summoned by blood mages, will disappear after battle, so enslave or not, you can't get it. There's only one horror you can normally see that will not disappear after battle- dream horror.

Ah, good.

If I could actually keep them after battle, that would mean potential for horror factories on some of those artifacts, which would be a smidge overpowered I'd guess.

If I can enslave them as a way of potentially ending the battle, even without gaining a free horror, that would be perfectly fine for what I'm trying to do... (keep my wish spammer alive)

cheers for the advice guys.

well then you might aswell give him some guards so that if you fail to enslave mind turn 1 they can buy you enough time for additional attempts at enslaving the horrors.

just use returning or give him good body guards with magic weapons

It's better avoid fighting with horror by returning, and better kill it than use enslave or whatever mr negate method- they have a nature mr of 20

hmmmm, I'll have 2 gems spare next month for returning. This month though its Paralyse x2, Enslave Mind x3

and their natural MR is 18 -2/3 from penetration

horror's natural mr is 20

the problem is, if you cant get rid of them in the first turn, you may get hit. you may be able to survive some hit, but its claw add more horror mark on you. then one day when you meet a doom horror, it will be too late to regret.

you can survive doom horrors if you're powerful enough.

also, wishing works like half the time. kurgi, wished and sent to an enemy capital, is quite good in my eyes, since he's so tough an army is hard-pressed to slay him. you just camp him outside their fortress and piss off your enemy

Horrors automatically leave after a short time.

You can survive, but with more and more horror mark, you will be attacked more than once per turn, you will get affliction, and you will eventually fall because of it.

Or maybe because of occasionally wrong equipment.
Or perhaps simply fail a mr check against hunter of heroes.
Or unlucky enough to meet the maker of ruins. Few, if any sc can beat maker of ruin without mage bane.

Kurgi....It can not move....Blood vengeance 7 is great against troops, but not sc. Beside, all doom horror have a chance to vanish every turn.
