Gold Spots

Just back into this game forgot how good it was & just realised I place pre plotted arty as a general rule for use later in the battle. WW2 poor call times & few gold spots tend to place where I hope the major locking of horns will take place but MBT with faster call times & often several gold spots position them in anticipated ATGM / MG locations to give my armor an easier time. Smoke if no TI otherwise suppress or if lucky kill outright so can hopefully keep momentum going, wondered if this was common.

I use them pretty much in the same way BUT I always seem to forget about placing during my setup until after I start the battle. :(

Same here,i don't buy alot of Obs and when i do place gold spots,thats where where i tend to be, too close:)atry calls are short in MBT,much better if used WW2 then it's usually just one.

Yeah, place my gold spots in places where i would deploy my forces if i were the opposing player(look at the battle from your opponent's perspective)
Even though i usually forget to do it, i make checklists for battles, starting with things to buy and place gold spots, use air recon...
