I've been playing with 'naval' units and noticed something interesting. I modded a tank into a ship, with 0 land MPs and 4 water MPs. I apparently got it too close to shore in a -1 water hex, and it got stuck. I even bailed the crew out, had them walk ashore, then come back and re-board the ship. However the ship itself was still unable to move. It could still fire its guns, and showed several clear hexes around it, but no matter how much I clicked, it would not budge. Its status stayed 'Ready', not 'Immobilized' or anything like that. If it's stuck, I wish the game would say so. I left it there for several turns to see if it might become mobile, but nothing.

Any ideas?

"Modded a tank into a ship" is probably your problem - I bet you did not change the move class to 7 "ship", or the unit class into one of the ship/Landing craft types (where move class 0 "default" would do).

Therefore - borked unit data, and so undetermined things may happen.

Andy

PS - entering too shallow water may well ground ships (not hovercraft). Vehicles can go into shallow waters too, but at the risk of sticking.

Hi Andy -

I used a tank on purpose. This phenomenon is not really a problem, I just wanted clarification.
