So I'll be off for vacation for in two days visiting friends, and I have a USB stick with Dom3 ready to spread the virus on those rainy days and stay-home nights.

What I'd like to know is what mods would enhance this experience?

I have cbm 1.84 & ENP 1+2 of which I'm very familiar, others I'm not so familiar with. I've downloaded better indept and some NI maps which should enhance hotseat play.

Assuming I would prefer fun and insanity over balance, what might people suggest or have had good experience with?

I've looked around and recall things such as semirand, Awesomesites, awesomegod, forbiddenfriendshop (cbm+AG?) but the compatibility and how they toss things up kinda confuses me.

Would anyone with experience with all those to give me a quick breakdown and recommend some fun hotseat settings?

A mod that I think is a lot of fun is Azurain's Assimilation mod (http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=46696), that allows one to recruit select units from a conquered opponent's capitol. You mentioned you downloaded some NI maps and I think this combines nicely with those as it's really a benefit to conquer an opponent and gain access to archers or mages with different magic paths than your nationals, etc.

Why confuse them with mods?
With totaly new players, I wouldnt upgrade the AI.

Edit: if one of those new players where an Warhammer fan, I would include the Warhammer nation mods.

If over the top is what you want, then you must of course include Amos nations, and mytheology wouldn't be a bad idea either. It has things like Death as a pretender, or immortal nazgul mounted on fel beasts.

You know that's probably true, I might not turn on better indept and/or indept.

Assimilation sounds interesting, I worry a lot on the compatible with all the mods I plan to run though @.@

What I'm looking at is awesomesites but my gut tells me its not compatible with cbm... time to check.

Here is a mod browser that lets you look at the items in it.
It definitely spurs me to thoughts of creative games

I'm sorry if this is really dumb, but are you saying you go on vacation to friends so as to play Dom?? I thought you meant to escape from them and play solo
