Hi all, been a while since I've posted but was just wondering if the Adapativ infra red system:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-14788009
is or could be modelled in the game?
It effectively makes tanks invisible to infra red whilst stationary or on the move. It can also mimic the signature of other objects such as a rock or a cow!
"Cool" was my first thought on reading the article.

What happens if private Smurfy decides to milk it then?.
Ah yes - that "cow" that growls like a Maybach turbo-diesel and lays down two tank tracks behind it as it sashays to the milking shed, while occasionally making 120mm flash-bangs while MG tracers emanate from it, and what happens if the commander goes heads-out and appears above the "cow"?.
(It apparently only works for I/R (under test conditions) - does nothing for the Mk1 eyeball, radar, LIDAR etc.)
Hmm - easily done in the game though, just replace the appropriate tank icon with a cow one, everything else remains the same .

lol
Now when I said 'modelled' I didn't mean visually.
But you know that. :)
To be honest given where most wars are taking place these days you'd've thought they would have gone for a camel instead of a cow.

I can see such a system working for a stationary vehicle. How they can,for example, mask the engine exhaust is unclear.

My first thought was, sounds like something designed at Hogwarts.

Or like that camo gear 'Predators' (the aliens, not the UCAVS) have in the movies.
