View Full Version : Sprawling Empires: Intermidiate game, relaxed pace - Recruiting
Colonial

So as I promised ( http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=47767 ), This is a game for intermediate players who are finding the don't have as much Dom3 time as they would like/used to.
I'm going to go with LA, because I like it, and with a large number of starting provinces per player, and therefore a bit of an epic pace, both because this style matches well with a slow game, and because I like it.
Without Further Adu:
Number of Players: 6-10
Provinces Per Player: 20-25 (map based on # of players)
Age: Late
Starting options: I'm going to say defaults, but i could be persuaded to make the world a bit poorer to make up for the large number of provinces. + Renaming
None of the more cheeky cheats.
Diplomacy: Lets say if you publish a NAP on the board, its considered binding, and if you break it we might organize a gangbang. Trades are binding.
Mods: CBM 1.9x, open to others.
Also, half a mind to host on Dom3minions, for the utility...
Players:
Colonial - Ulm
bgifu - Bogarus
TigerBlood - Pangaea
Come one, come all

I'm interested. I may be a bit more noobish than intermediate, though. I've played 3 MP games, though that was 2 years ago before real life got too busy for me to play much. The pace you are talking about looks like it will fit me well right now--I can commit to a long game at that pace.
If I'm not too noobish, I'll take Caelum or Agartha--I'll make the choice in a few days. Of course, first-come-first-served, so anyone else is welcome to those nations before I make my choice.

I'll take Bogarus

Ephraim,
If you don't mind being a bit more noobish than everyone else I guess your joining will be fine.
Did you even get to the late game in those last few games?

Bienvenue, bgifu!

I was in the late game for one of the three games, though I didn't win. Hmm...maybe I'll think about starting a slower paced game for noobs--that might fit me better than this game.

Fair play,
Noob games always get snapped up on these forums...

Hey Colonial,
I think I will not be participating after all. It seems you are going for a bigger game than I'm willing to play. Too many provinces, possibly too many players. I've unfortunately grown tired of the microheavy/slow endgame, even with long turns. Also, I am somewhat afraid it will take too long to complete. If you were going for about 5-7 players and max 100-120 provinces, I'd consider joining.
Good initiative though.

I might try Pangaea. I have not played them with CBM before.

I agree with Death Jester.

I'm sorry to hear that this style isn't to your liking. I was looking forward to playing against yous.
If either of you is up for starting a game that is organized in the way you are after, I would certainly be tempted to join...

Hmm, problem is that I like this style in theory, but I've found it tiresome in practice, unfortunately.
I will start a game shortly, with:
-6 players
-relatively relaxed pace
-about 100 provinces
-limited diplomacy
-some small requirements to roleplay
I will reserve a place for you (and no shame if you decide to not play, of course!)

While I like faster games, I would still consider it. But I like my GemGens to much...

Eh, fair man. I figured in a spacious game gemgens would get a bit too dominant...
