2. Download Cross Sounds 1.0, unzip and copy or move the wav files into the 'Sounds' folder and Replace All.
3. Download Cross Sounds 1.1, unzip and copy or move the wav files into the 'Sounds' folder and Replace All.
4. Download Cross Sounds 1.2, unzip and copy or move the wav files into the 'Sounds' folder and Replace All.

The Sounds folder is found here:

WinSPWW2\Game Data\Sounds

Sounds good ;)

I guess some people may already have different versions of this, so the upgrades are useful, but it might be an idea to include a single all inclusive version too.

There's a single all inclusive version on theblitz.org if I recall correctly. But that was back when 1.1 went out.

"You should Sign Up or Login to download this file"
4shared exe manager seems needed to DL the files.

The 'log in' requirement is new. It's shame that another file hosting website has gone over to the dark side...

I will have to find another host for the sounds files.

Have you tried GameFront?
http://www.gamefront.com/

I think it is a decent upload site.

Yes, if you look at the OP you will see it was edited (in blue) with a link to The Blitz who host the sound mod version 1.2.

They only have it in RAR and you have to download in two parts.

If RAR is a problem, or you just need the 1.1 or 1.2 patch, let me know and I could put it in the 'public' folder of my DropBox account, then post a link here.

Thx Cross.

With your url I went right to the correct download space and got them. I had tried to go in the front door and they wanted a log in and registration.

Great mod, thanks for your work.
Just a note, i downloaded over "The Blitz" and that pack has a 32.wav and a 32 .wav, I guess the latter one is just an error so you might want to remove it for the next version.

BTW "91.WAV" sounds a bit like a landing boat that lowers a big door or cargo hatch.

Does area fire use different sounds?

I just play a scenario and infantry units that use area fire have rifle fire that sounds like a MP.
Using direct fire it sounds normal.

Area fire uses sound 9.wav which is the same sound as the aircraft .303 MG

So if you want to change the area-fire sound, keep in mind you are also changing the aircraft MG sound, and just replace sound 9.wav

I don't think I have area-fire listed in my sound map. I'll add it, so it's in the next one.

For those who like to mod sounds and OOB, I noticed that the latest version of MobHack has a new 'weapon sounds' field in the weapons tab.

The weapon sound overrides any sound assigned at the unit level; which means you can assign weapons a specific sound without having to scroll through 999 units.

But this will of course result in modded OOB, so can't be used with vanilla OOB.

I do have the files. However the zip/7z file is bigger than an attachment here is allowed to be.

PM me your email address and I will send you the files.
