Soviet sniper rifle before SVD ?

In the time frame before the Dragunov rifle was introduced, what was the snipers weapon in the Red Army?

Did they retain scoped Nagant rifles? Scoped SKS or something different?

It looks like the Mosen-Nagant m/90-30 PU was the predessor to the SVD which is still in service today along with the SVU
(Ref. 3) Para version which was a further development of the SVD. Next up in development was the Vintorez also provided below. Never used it for that purpose of course, but I prefered the M-14 best rifle I ever shot and the only one I shot expert with, couldn't get there with the M-16/AR-15 or other.

Also autoloading SVT-40 was used with a scope.

Note, that the Russians never ever used name "Nagant" in Mosin rifle's name, it's only a Western convention.

Sniper Mosin lbm is 41019.
